A traditional ingredient in a countryside herbalist's cupboard, elderflower and its juice have been used to flavour English drinks and food for centuries. These white flowers give off a delicate scent and can be seen at the side of country lanes all over the UK. The dark-blue berries make a sweet, refreshing juice which our specialist producers then distil into this distinctive liqueur. They are topped off with a hint of cinnamon spice, which makes this drink just right for a winter warmer with a taste of summer. Mixing elderflower liqueur is a delicate process. The flavour is distinct but easily lost, so don't add too many heavy flavours - a white spirit like a vodka or a gin will be perfect.
